City to Host Public Meeting on Transportation Master Plan

The discussion will focus on the future of Redmond's transportation infrastructure.

The city of Redmond will hold a community meeting at from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, to discuss a planned update to the Transportation Master Plan.

The Transportation Master Plan determines how transportation funding is allocated and what long-term projects and programs will be the city’s focus. According to the city's website, the current plan was first adopted in 2005. An update began in 2010 and will continue through 2011, with the final document expected in early 2012.

The July 21 gathering will be the second of three planned public events to give Redmond-area residents and business owners the opportunity to contribute to the plan by discussing how they travel in the city and how they want to travel in the future.

Participants will receive an update on the draft plan and break into facilitated discussion groups to give their ideas directly to city staff. Refreshments and door prizes will be available.

For more information about the July 21 community event, visit the city’s website at www.redmond.gov/tmp or contact Lei Wu at lwu@redmond.gov. Redmond City Hall is located at 15670 NE 85th St.
