Elections Update: David Carson Draws Challenger for City Council Seat

Redmond resident Sue Stewart filed for city council position No. 7 on Friday afternoon.

A Redmond resident has filed to challenge city council member David Carson for his seat in the 2011 local elections.

Sue Stewart filed for the seat, position No. 7, today. Two of the four open city council seats now have more than one candidate, while incumbents Hank Myers and Hank Margeson have yet to draw challengers for their seats, as of 3:15 p.m. Friday.

Redmond Mayor John Marchione also remains the only candidate to have filed for his seat. The deadline to file as a candidate in King County is at 4:30 p.m. today. Check back with Redmond Patch later this afternoon for a final update.
