City of Redmond to Dedicate Fire Station 17

The City of Redmond will officially dedicate its newest fire station on Friday, March 30th at 10:30am. Fire Station 17, located at 16917 NE 116th Street in North Redmond is the first new fire station built within the City since 1996. A public open house will be held later this spring.

“Fire Station 17 represents the fulfillment of a promise made by the City to provide rapid emergency response for the residents of Education Hill and North Redmond”, said Mayor John Marchione. “The completion of this station was one of the primary reasons I chose to run for city government. I am particularly proud of the efforts of City staff who, along with our construction partners, worked tirelessly to make this vital new piece of Redmond’s emergency service infrastructure a reality.”

The station will house an aid car staffed 24/7/365 by two firefighters/EMT’s providing basic life support services to the area. The Station will serve the North Redmond neighborhood, northern parts of Education Hill and the northern ends of Willows Road, Redmond-Woodinville Road and the Avondale Road Corridor. The facility is designed with the capacity to accommodate additional services as the population and needs of the neighborhoods change.

No parking for the general public is available on-site. Guests must park in the north lot of the Church of the Holy Cross, 11526 162nd Avenue NE. Access to the lot is best from NE 116th Street just east of 162nd Avenue NE. Shuttles are available from 9:55 to 10:25 am to take guests from the parking lot to the site and return them to their cars at the completion of the ceremony.

Mayor John Marchione, City Councilmembers and Fire Chief Kevin Donnelly, among others, will be in attendance.
