Help Shape the Future of Redmond Neighborhoods

The city is looking for input as it prepares for higher density urban neighborhoods to emerge around transit, such as the future Overlake East Link station.

The City of Redmond, along with the Growing Transit Communities partnership, is seeking ideas from the public about what makes urban neighborhoods most appealing as places to live, work, learn, and play.

The city has launched an online survey to gather input, particularly as it looks ahead to light rail, with a station coming to the Overlake neighborhood at 152nd and 520.

"It’s a great opportunity for people to share their ideas for the neighborhood," said Redmond Senior Planner Sarah Stiteler. "The ideas people put forth will be incorporated into planning that’s going on in the east corridor."

New urban neighborhoods with a mix of high density housing, retail, employment, parks and trails, and other uses will emerge around high capacity transit stations such as Overlake, the city said in a press release.

The City is seeking input through in-person contacts at events as well as an online survey to gather thoughts about how to make these neighborhoods appealing for people of all ages, including families.   In Redmond’s Overlake neighborhood, light rail will be operating by 2023.  You can find the survey at www.surveymonkey.com/s/VibrantNeighborhoods
