It's Official: Election Results Certified by King County

Tom Flynn will be the only new Redmond City Council member next year.

The results are officially in—Tom Flynn will be the only new member on the Redmond City Council come Jan. 1.

The King County Department of Elections certified results from the Nov. 8 election early Tuesday morning, confirming early returns that showed and incumbent claiming victory over Joel Wright and Sue Stewart, their respective opponents.

The percentage break down of the race for council seats 5 and 7—Redmond's only two contetested races—remained virtually unchanged throughout the month as votes continued to be tallied. The final results show both Carson and Flynn winning 56 to 43 percent over their opponents.

Stewart and Wright both earlier this month.

Mayor John Marchione and city council members Hank Margeson and Hank Myers—all of whom ran unopposed for re-election—maintained vote tallies close to 100 percent in the certified results.
