Learn About the New 520 Bridge at Medina Open House

The Washington State Department of Transportation will hold two upcoming open houses on the State Route 520 Bridge construction.

Residents can learn more about the upcoming construction of the new State Route 520 floating bridge at a at in Medina on Tuesday.

The state plans to replace the 50-year-old span with a new bridge. The bridge will connect to the state's . Improvements already underway include , a wider roadway, increased carpool lanes, a bicycle and pedestrian lane and environmental upgrades. The .

According to the state, in addition to details about construction and floating bridge designs, WSDOT staff will share updated information on designs in the Seattle area, progress on permits and our efforts to minimize effects during construction.

If you can't make it to the Medina meeting, there will be another open house in Seattle on Wednesday at the Museum of History and Industry.

RASP is a wonderful group of writers from all walks of Redmond life. They hold an open mic on theRead More last Friday of every month at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. Not only do they have featured readers like Kathleen, but the open mic portion encourages anyone from the community to read their work. It's regularly quite good. All those with a hunger to get their work out in the world should attend.
