Redmond Ridge's Trilogy Parkway to Get Makeover

King County will repair 11 miles of roadway starting Aug. 20

Trilogy Parkway on Redmond Ridge is scheduled for repaving next week, just one of several unincorporated roadways that will get a complete makeover this season as King County kicks off its annual pavement overlay program beginning Aug. 20.

In all, 11 miles of roadway near Maple Valley, Renton, Redmond, Woodinville and Duvall will be repaved with a new layer of asphalt. The process will include patching cracks and potholes, grinding away worn surfaces, rebuilding damaged roadbeds and shoulders, and repairing drainage systems before the new pavement and fresh striping is applied.

The end result will be a much smoother and quieter surface for motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists. The new pavement will also add 10 to 15 years of new life for some of the county’s most deteriorated roadways.

Roads that will be repaved this season include:

  • Southeast Petrovitsky Road - South King County
  • Southeast Preston-Fall City Road - Snoqualmie Valley
  • Northeast Woodinville-Duvall Road –Northeast King County
  • Northeast 133rd Street – Northeast King County
  • Trilogy Parkway- near Redmond

Most of the overlay work will occur daily during non-peak travel periods to minimize disruptions. However, residents are advised that some night paving will occur on Northeast Woodinville-Duvall Road beginning Monday (Aug. 20) to avoid adding to daytime congestion on the busy roadway. The work will occur between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. daily and should be wrapped up by Labor Day. The remaining paving activity should be completed by October.

RASP is a wonderful group of writers from all walks of Redmond life. They hold an open mic on theRead More last Friday of every month at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. Not only do they have featured readers like Kathleen, but the open mic portion encourages anyone from the community to read their work. It's regularly quite good. All those with a hunger to get their work out in the world should attend.
