Renton Hosts Seahawks Send-Off Rally Friday

Join Blitz and the Sea Gals Friday afternoon for a barbecue and Seahawks send-off party at Renton City Hall.

In the days and hours leading up to a second-round NFC division playoff game this coming Sunday against the 13-3 Atlanta Falcons the 12th Man will continue to fly over Renton City Hall. But the team's own "hometown" won't stop there.

“Renton, the home of the Seattle Seahawks, is going all out to celebrate the Seahawks playoff run and will host a rally/send-off party to cheer on the team as they go to Atlanta for their next game,” wrote Preeti Shridhar, Deputy Public Affairs Administrator in an email to Patch.

Blitz and the Sea Gals will be there to lead the party, until fans walk to the Benson Bridge to cheer as the Seahawks bus heads to the airport.

Fans are asked to wear their best blue and green Seahawks gear to show their support at the Friday rally. The City of Renton and Seattle Seahawks coordinated for the event to provide free hot dogs, Seahawks cheer cards, and prizes for the best Seahawks Spirit costume.

RASP is a wonderful group of writers from all walks of Redmond life. They hold an open mic on theRead More last Friday of every month at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. Not only do they have featured readers like Kathleen, but the open mic portion encourages anyone from the community to read their work. It's regularly quite good. All those with a hunger to get their work out in the world should attend.
