Republican Presidential Straw Poll Vote to be Released Saturday Evening

Check back here later today for a story with the vote and an account of the Redmond caucus at the Lake Washington VFW.

Republicans from around Washington state met Saturday morning in precinct caucuses to elect local delegates and vote in a presidential straw poll, the results of which will be announced Saturday evening.

Patch will update the straw poll in a story here as soon as the official results are available, along with an account of the caucuses and comments from local participants.

Patch live-blogged from more than a dozen caucus sites Saturday morning, including from the post in Redmond, where more than 300 people met in 52 precincts from the 48th Legislative District to select delegates to the King County GOP convention and vote in the straw poll.

Mitt Romney was the clear winner of the straw poll vote in Redmond. A preliminary tally showed Romney with 133 votes, followed by Ron Paul with 109, Rick Santorum 45, Newt Gingrich 21, six undecided and one vote for the comedian Stephen Colbert.
