UPDATE: School Board Candidates File for Election

The three open seats on the Lake Washington School District Board of Directors now have candidates, and Joel L. Wright has filed as a candidate for Redmond City Council.

As the end of election filing week approaches in King County, four candidates have filed for three open seats on the Lake Washington School District Board of Directors, and another Redmond resident is now officially vying for the seat of outgoing Redmond City Council President Richard Cole.

LWSD school board President Jackie Pendergrass (District 1) now has a challenger in Cynthia Hudson, a PTSA member and community volunteer who is advocating for a more consistent school schedule and a budget that does not cut teacher pay.

Redmond resident Siri Bliesner has also filed for the District 5 seat, and Christopher Carlson is vying for a seat to represent District 2.

At the city level, Joel L. Wright has now officially filed for the seat of outgoing council president Richard Cole. His only challenger as of 2 p.m. Thursday is planning commissioner Tom Flynn.
