Volunteers Needed for City Centennial Celebration and Redmond Lights

A full day of festivities is being planned for Saturday, Dec. 1.

The City of Redmond seeks community volunteers to assist with the upcoming centennial celebration and Redmond Lights festival on Saturday, Dec. 1.

Volunteers are needed from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. to help with a variety of tasks, including event support, set-up and tear-down. The first part of the day will be dedicated to celebrating the city's centennial, with the annual Redmond Lights festival following in the evening.

"Helping the community celebrate the beginning of the holiday season is a great way to meet your neighbors and benefit your health,” Florence Wong, the city’s volunteer coordinator, said in a city news release. “Studies show volunteering increases self-esteem, lowers blood pressure, reduces stress on the body and even bolsters the immune system!”
