VP Nominee Paul Ryan Visits the Eastside for Private Fundraisers Monday

Both Romney's and Obama's most recent campaign stops on the Eastside have not included public events.

Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan is scheduled to be in Bellevue and Medina for two private fundraisers Monday.

According to the Bellevue Reporter, Ryan, the Wisconsin congressman whom presidential nominee Mitt Romney chose as his running mate, will make stops this afternoon at a $1,000 per person reception, and then a $25,000 per person reception at the Medina home of Jolene and Bruce McCaw.

There are no public events scheduled, and gubernatorial candidate Rob McKenna of Bellevue is scheduled to be at a fundraiser in Moses Lake today, according to KING5-TV.

The TV station reports that this may be the last time that the Republican presidential ticket is in Washington state.

While Romney and President Barack Obama have visited the Eastside several times for fundraising visits, Obama has a double-digit lead in the polls for this state's electoral college votes, and the state is not considered to be competitive in the presidential election, according to the New York Times' Five Thirty Eight blog, which analyzes the Electoral College.

Bellevue and the surrounding cities have been popular stops for the national tickets, despite Washington not being competitive in the presidential race. Both Romney's and Obama's most recent campaign stops on the Eastside have not included public events. How do you feel about Eastside money being sent to the national campaigns? Tell us in the comments.

I wonder how many lies that Paul Ryan will tell at these events? He is such a good liar, as even Fox News noted after the Republican Convention.

Oh no, say it ain't so Joe! How do I know that you are not the liar and can be trusted? By the way how do you feel about the lie that Obama saved GM jobs from bankruptcy!!!! Or that the bad economic climate was handed to him, yet he created his own medical welfare program instead of dealing with making jobs. That medical program puts additional taxes and penalties on companies in a bad economy....now what about his sincerity to the working people of this country?

Or that Obama would be a one term president if the economy did not improve under his watch.
Bye Bye Romney September 16, 2012 at 03:37 PM
Sheldon Adelson, Romney's uber-billionaire casino owner and financial backer, pledged to give Romney $100 million -- or "whatever it takes" -- to defeat Obama. Do you know why??? As Bill Clinton reminded us, sometimes the answer is as simple as arithmetic. So let's do the math: According to a new report from the Center for American Progress Action Fund, Adelson will get $2 billion in tax savings from Romney in return for his support. And it will be paid for by every taxpayer reading this blog, so pass the word QUICKLY. If Obama wins, everyone pays their fair share of taxes...including Mr. Adelson! Tell me... WHICH ONE IS MORE FAIR FOR AMERICAN FAMILIES? WHICH ONE CAN YOU AFFORD? Americans cannot afford to live the Romney-Ryan lifestyle without having the same personal wealth. We can DREAM...but we know that it's not reality. Romney is still dreaming.
