What Do You Think About the Occupy Wall Street Protests?

There were demonstrations around the state Saturday. Were you there?

The Occupy Wall Street protests against corporate greed spread around the country and the globe Saturday, with a crowd of 3,000 to 5,000 reported in downtown Seattle.

Participants in Seattle were out representing a wide range of causes, such as protesting the war or Middle East policy, or just to support the right for protesters to camp in Westlake Park, The Seattle Times reports.

About 400 people demonstrated in Tacoma, the News Tribune reports.

And protests also took place in Olympia, Spokane and in Vancouver, Wash., where about 700 people demonstrated against what they described as undue influence by corporations in American life, The Associated Press reports.

We’re wondering what Redmond Patch readers think about the protests and the idea behind them. Share your ideas in the comments below, and take our poll.

RASP is a wonderful group of writers from all walks of Redmond life. They hold an open mic on theRead More last Friday of every month at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. Not only do they have featured readers like Kathleen, but the open mic portion encourages anyone from the community to read their work. It's regularly quite good. All those with a hunger to get their work out in the world should attend.
