UPDATE: Friday Classes Canceled in the Lake Washington School District

UPDATE, 5:15 p.m., Jan. 19: Lake Washington School District has canceled all classes and activities for Friday. Schools in the Northshore district will also be closed Friday, as well as in Redmond.

UPDATE, 5:30 p.m., Jan. 18:  Lake Washington School District has canceled all classes and activities for Thursday. Schools in the Northshore district will also be closed Thursday.

UPDATE, 5:40 p.m., Jan. 17: Lake Washington School District has canceled all classes and activities for Wednesday. Schools in the Northshore district will also be closed Wednesday.

UPDATE, 1:30 p.m., Jan. 17: Lake Washington School District is dismissing students early today because of snowy weather. Kathryn Reith, a spokesperson for the district, says students are currently being released to their parents and those that have permission to walk home via their "emergency cards" are being allowed to do so. Buses will be approximately 30 minutes early, Reith said. Extended day care has been canceled.

Classes in the will start two hours late, according to an alert posted on emergency communication website schoolreport.org.

The district's buses will also operate on a snow route. Morning kindergarten, preschool, Quest pull-out, before-school music and out-of-district transportation have been canceled.
