Redmond Cross-Country to Compete in Nike Event This Weekend

The Redmond cross-country team will compete in the Nike Pre-National Event this weekend in Portland.

The Redmond boys' and girls' cross-country teams will compete in the Nike Pre-National event this Saturday at Portland Meadows in Portland, Ore.

The NPN is a giant event that hosts more than 100 schools and 3,500-plus athletes, according to the event's website.

Redmond is coming off of a strong showing in the teams' last meet on Sept. 15 against Garfield. Johnathan Stevens took first for the boys with a time of 16:52 in that meet, while freshman Megan LeGresley paced the Redmond girls, finishing first with a time of 19:16, 33 seconds faster than the second-place finisher, Natalie Sharp of Garfield. The Redmond girls had seven of the top 10 finishers in that meet.
