US News Gives Redmond High Silver Medal for Math, Science Programs

The International Community School in Kirkland came out in the top 10 of US New & World Report's first-ever ranking of high school math and science programs.

US News & World Report ranked the math and science programs at International Community School, a choice school in the Lake Washington School District, number eight in the country in the publication's first ever ranking of top high schools for math and science.

As one of the top 208 schools, ICS earned a gold medal. was also recognized for excellence in math and science, earning a silver medal.

Rankings were based on 2008 data for schools that made the US News Best High Schools ranking in December 2009. Schools were ranked on the basis of math and science participation and success in Advanced Placement test data for science, technology, engineering and math.
