Big Backyard 5k Returns to Marymoor Park This Sunday

The fourth-annual race also features a free kids' dash.

Lace up those sneakers: King County's Big Backyard 5K is set to return to Marymoor Park this Sunday, June 2, and sign-ups are still being accepted.

The 5K, open to runners, walkers, dogs and strollers, begins at 9 a.m. and will be followed by a free kids' dash at 10 a.m.

Online registration has closed, but participants can sign up at an early packet pick-up event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the park. Registration will also be available the day of the race. Cost is $35 in advance or $40 on race day. Walkers receive a $5 discount.

The Big Backyard 5K is a fundraiser for the King County Parks. Over the last three years, the event has brought in nearly $95,000 for the parks system.
