Watkins scores 8 to lead Redmond past Mt. Si in boys lax

SNOQUALMIE – Freshman Liam Watkins scored a season-high 8 goals to lead Redmond past Mt. Si in boys' high school lacrosse action on April 26 at Snoqualmie Middle School.

Redmond jumped out in the first, outscoring Mt. Si 4-1 before scoring 6 unanswered goals in the second to take a 10–1 lead into the intermission.  In the second half, Redmond netted 3 in the third and 3 more in the fourth to close out the game.

For Redmond, Watkins and Harrison Stankey combined for 13 ground balls to set the offensive table. Stankey netted 4 goals, and Nicco Shewey had 10 saves in the nets for Redmond. For Mt. Si, Tyler Young, Bradley Christensen, Tucker Dana, Andrew Bottemiller, and Ryker Schwartzenberger all had solo goals.

Clements and Monsaas combine for 8 as Lake Sam drops Roosevelt in girls' lax

REDMOND – Allison Clements and Claire Monsaas each scored 4 goals to lead Lake Sammamish to its sixth win of the season in a 17–3 girls' high school lacrosse win over Roosevelt on April 26 at in Redmond. The win was the fifth in a row for the high-flying Eastside club.

Lake Sammamish sped to a 13–3 halftime lead before blanking Roosevelt 4–0 in the second half to seal the win. 

Other top performances for Lake Sammamish came from Kate Wagner with 3 goals and Meg Chapman with a goal, an assist and 6 ground balls. Clements caused 3 turnovers and controlled 7 draws to help set the table for her offense. For Roosevelt, Adrienne Leonard had all 3 scores and Janina Pilgner had 7 saves in goal.

Lake Sammamish drops Wenatchee in girls D2 lax

REDMOND – Alexandra Johnson and Marlena Masterleo each scored 4 goals to lead Lake Sammamish to a 14–7 girls' Division II high school lacrosse win on April 26 at Marymoor Park in Redmond. The win was the sixth of the year for Lake Sammamish.

Lake Sammamish cruised early on with 10 first-half goals to take a 10–3 lead into the intermission. In the second, Wenatchee challenged, matching Lake Sammamish with 4 goals, but was unable to overcome the fast start.

Wenatchee’s Taylor Christensen netted 3 goals, and Katie Kottkamp had 7 saves in the nets.

Freshman Bethke nets 4 to power Bellevue past Overlake in boys' lax

REDMOND – Freshman Hank Bethke scored 4 goals and delivered 4 assists to lead Bellevue to its 11th win of the season with a 14–4 defeat of the Overlake School on April 27 at the in Redmond.

Bellevue opened the game to take a 3–1 lead in the first and build its advantage to 8–3 by the half. In the third, the Wolverines’ defense kicked into gear to blank the Owls 4–0, before rounding out the game with 2 more goals in the fourth.

For the Owls, Barrett Jenness and Erik Risa had 2 goals each. Risa also grabbed 14 ground balls to lead the Overlake defense.

Johnson’s hat trick leads Lake Sammamish past Lakeside 9–7 in girls' lax

SEATTLE – Alex Johnson scored 3 goals to lead Lake Sammamish to its seventh win of the season with a 9–7 girls Division II high school lacrosse defeat of at the Lakeside School in North Seattle on April 28.

Lake Sammamish built on a narrow 4–3 halftime lead to steadily pull away from the Lions in the second for the win.

Johnson grabbed 5 ground balls and Amelia Chirichigno had 2 goals and 4 ground balls for Lake Sammamish. Annabel Bench netted 3 goals for Lakeside.

Eastside Catholic lacrosse blasts Overlake with 7 goals in fourth

SAMMAMISH – Michael Rambaldini netted 6 goals as Eastside Catholic blasted Overlake with 7 unanswered goals in the fourth quarter for a 14–7 boys' high school lacrosse win Friday on the campus of the Eastside Catholic School in Sammamish.  

After building a 4–1 lead in the first, Eastside Catholic allowed 4 second-quarter goals as Overlake tied it up, taking a 5–5 draw into the intermission. After matching each other goal for goal in the third, Rambaldini knotted the game for the fourth time of the night with 56 seconds remaining to take a 7-all tie into the fourth and decisive quarter. In the end, the Crusaders’ 7 fourth-quarter goals secured the win.

Eric Risa had a goal and 6 ground balls and Nick Evans had 14 saves in goal for the Owls. The game was featured on the AAA Washington Varsity News (KONG 6/16) as the Seattle Times People’s Choice Game of the Week.

Grubb nets 5 to lead Overlake past Bellevue East in girls lacrosse

REDMOND – Grace Grubb scored 5 goals to lead Overlake to an 18–17 girls' high school lacrosse win over Bellevue East Friday at the Overlake School in Redmond.

Overlake’s Zoe Pinczower and Sarah Silverman each had 3 goals, and Quinn Phillips and Emma Howard combined for 6 saves in goal. For Bellevue East, Kayla Miller had 6 goals and Camille Sullivan netted 5.

Stankey nets 4 to lead Redmond past South Kitsap in boys lax

PORT ORCHARD – Harrison Stankey scored 4 goals to lead Redmond to its seventh win the the season with a 7–4 boys' high school lacrosse win over South Kitsap, Saturday at Mullenix Ridge Elementary School in Port Orchard. With the win, Redmond is in third spot in the Division II Evergreen Conference, 3 games behind conference leader Sammamish.

Redmond opened with 3 goals in the first and 1 goal in the second to take a 4–2 lead into the half. After matching South Kitsap goal-for-goal in the third, Redmond built on its 5–3 lead in the third to cruise to the win with two more goals in the fourth.

Redmond’s Liam Watkins had 2 goals and 8 ground balls in the win. He combined with Casey Downey and Quinn Abei for  24 ground balls.

Redmond (7-3-0) next faces Highline (10-4-0) 8 p.m. Wednesday at Moshier Park in Burien.

Three hat tricks lead Snohomish past Lake Sammamish in girls lax

SNOHOMISH – Stephanie Lamphere, Sarah Clogston and Rebekah Price each netted hat tricks to lead Snohomish to a season-concluding ninth win in a 15–11 girls high school lacrosse defeat of Lake Sammamish on Monday at Glacier Peak High School.

With the win, Snohomish now awaits its girls Division I playoff pairings.  

Snohomish jumped out with an 8–5 halftime lead and added another 7 goals in the second to seal the win.

For Lake Sammamish, Claire Monsaas netted 4 goals, Allison Clements had 3 and Grace Hamilton made 11 saves.

Snohomish concludes the regular season at 9-1-1.  Lake Sammamish (6-3-0) next faces Holy Names at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Marymoor Park in Redmond.

Chirichigno nets game winner to lift Lake Sammamish past Snohomish in girls' lax

SNOHOMISH – Amelia Chirichigno scored the game winner with just 33 second remaining to lift Lake Sammamish past Snohomish in girls Division II high school lacrosse on Monday at Harvey Air Field in Snohomish. 

Chirichigno’s game winner came on a free position shot, giving Lake Sammamish its eighth win of the season.

Snohomish moved out to a 6–5 lead at the half before Lake Sammamish used almost the entire second half to fight back into position to win the game. 

Chirichigno had 5 ground balls and 6 draw controls and along with 4 goals from both Alex Johnson and Marlena Masterleo led the Lake Sammamish offense.

Lake Sammamish (8-3-0) next faces Bellevue East (9-1-0) at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Marymoor Park in Redmond.
