Jackson Roos Memorial Field Recognized at Redmond Ridge Construction Kickoff

Redmond North Little League celebrated the start of construction at its home field. All-weather synthetic turf will be installed, replacing the dirt fields.

Redmond North Little League celebrated the Jackson Roos Memorial Field plaque unveiling and “Heading for Home” celebration at Redmond Ridge Park on Friday, Oct. 4.

State and county leaders presented the League with ceremonial grant checks as it got set to kick off the construction phase of its "Renovate the Ridge" campaign, which has raised $1.7 million to replace the park’s dirt fields with all-weather synthetic turf surfaces for baseball, softball, and other activities.

The event featured the unveiling of a plaque for Jackson Roos Memorial Field, the official home field of Redmond North Little League. Jackson was a Redmond North Little Leaguer who died in an accident at his home on Sept. 26, 2012. He is remembered for his kindness, sportsmanship, and love of baseball.

Volunteers and community leaders who have worked for nearly a decade to improve the fields at Redmond Ridge Park, and for kids to run the bases.
