Redmond Baseball Takes Down Rival Kangaroos

Senior Zach Abbruzza hit a two-out grand slam to help propel the Mustangs to a 10-7 victory on Saturday.

Redmond baseball proved victorious over rival Lake Washington High School on Saturday, scoring seven runs in the fifth inning and winning by a final margin of 10-7.

Mustang senior Zach Abruzza went three-for-four at the plate, and hit a two-out grand slam over the left-field fence in the fifth inning at . Junior Cody Beliel chipped in for the Mustangs by hitting a two-RBI double in the fourth.

For the Kangaroos, Theo Alexander cranked a three-run shot in the top of the fifth and scored two runs, while Bob Cruikshank and Zach Johnson also put pitches over the fence.

Redmond's will next face Newport at 6 p.m. Monday back at Hartman Park. The team is now 5-2 overall and undefeated in league play.
