Redmond High Grads Key Players in Oregon State Baseball Victory

Dylan Davis and Michael Conforto, 2011 Redmond High grads, helped pave the way for OSU to appear at the College World Series, which begins June 14.

Redmond High grads Michael Conforto and Dylan Davis hit back-to-back homeruns in an Oregon State University baseball game against Kansas State Sunday, June 9, helping pave the way for the Beavers to head to Omaha this weekend.

After Sunday's win and a Monday night win against Kansas, the Beavers took the Corvallis Super Regional, and are on their way to the College World Series in Omaha, which they'll open Saturday.

Conforto, who hails from Woodinville, played shortstop for the Redmond High Mustangs and was ranked 11th in the state in his senior season in 2011. Conforto and Davis both made KingCo. First Team honors in the 2009, 2010 and 2011 seasons with the 'stangs.

Saturday's College World Series opener is slated to air live on ESPN2 beginning at 12 p.m. Pacific time and the game can also be found online on ESPN3.com.
