Redmond Native Heather Harper to Compete in Olympic Swimming Trials

The former Mustang star will compete in the 100-meter breaststroke on Tuesday, June 26, in Omaha, Neb.

Redmond native Heather Harper will compete next Tuesday, June 26, in the Olympic swimming team trials in Omaha, Neb.

Harper, a rising sophomore at Boise State University, will swim the 100-meter breaststroke—the event in which she earned two 4A state titles while swimming for .

Harper appears in a video interview on the Boise State sports information website to talk about qualifying for the Olympic trials and her feelings going into the event.

“I’m just really excited," she says in the video. "I feel like my training’s been (going) really, really well this year.”

Harper also said she is looking forward to competing with athletes who have served as role models during her swimming career.
