This Week in Mustang Sports
Here's a look ahead at what Redmond High School athletes are up to this week.
Football
The Redmond football team was burned early in its against Juanita and never recovered, falling 48-16 to the Rebels. The Mustangs surrendered four touchdowns in the game's first 6:30 to fall in to a 28-0 hole and, although they reasonably well the rest of the way, never found a way to get back in it.
Redmond passed for 226 yards as a team in the game, completing 13 of 29 passes, but got in to the end zone just twice.

Next up for the Mustangs is Lake Washington, which had a bizarre start to its season. The Kangs were leading Garfield 14-0 early in the third quarter when a dispute over a fumble led to a Garfield coach being ejected and the Bulldogs simply walking off the field. Lake Washington’s Michael Wozeniak returned a kickoff 61 yards for a touchdown in that one.
Redmond and Lake Washington kick off at 7 p.m. Friday at Redmond High School.

The girls side is anchored by six returning runners that placed in state in 2010, including Holly Young, who finished 54th overall.
The boys side returns four state runners, including junior Johnathan Stevens, who finished third in the KingCo conference in 2010 and 33rd at the state meet.
