Eastside Symphony Concert Series Returns Oct. 20

EASTSIDE SYMPHONY 2012-2013 TICKETS ON SALE

SEASON OPENING CONCERT ON OCTOBER 20, 2012

REDMOND – Eastside Symphony’s first concert of the season is on October 20, 2012 at 7:30p.m. Tickets are on sale at Brown Paper Tickets www.brownpapertickets.com  or available at the door for all of Eastside Symphony’s 2012-13 Season performances. All concerts this season will be held at the Redmond Performing Arts Center: 17272 NE 104th Street, Redmond 98052. For details, please call (206) 334-2055.

Alexei Girsh will begin his 21st season with Saint-Saëns’ Violin Concerto No. 3 (1st mvmt.), Lalo’s Cello Concerto, and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade. The October 20th concert will be highlighted with performances featuring two Young Soloist winners – Mira Yamamoto and Audrey Chen. Yamamoto is a member of the Seattle Youth Symphony and also a student at the Seattle Conservatory of Music. Chen is the principal cellist of the Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra and has distinguished herself in the Performing Arts Festival of the Eastside and the Seattle Young Artists Music Festival.

In December, a complimentary concert will be presented to celebrate the holidays. The Eastside Symphony’s holiday music series will include favorites such as The Nutcracker, Festival of Carols, and many more. No tickets are required for this concert; seating is first-come, first-served and will be on December 2, 2012 and start at 3:00 pm.

Other concert highlights include Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony for the Winter Concert on March 16, 2013, and pianist Natalya Ageyeva playing Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 3 on May 18, 2013 for the Spring Concert.
