City, Cascade Land Conservancy to Host Park Clean-Up

Volunteers will gather at Westside Park on June 25 to remove invasive plant species and plant native trees and shrubs.

The City of Redmond and the Cascade Land Conservancy are partnering to sponsor a work party from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 25, at , 5810 156 Ave. NE, Redmond. Volunteers will remove invasive plants and plant native trees and shrubs in an effort to re-establish a healthy forest and mitigate carbon in the atmosphere.

No experience is necessary; gloves, tools and other materials are available. Participants should dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. All ages are welcome, but all volunteers under 18 must either be accompanied by an adult or bring a signed waiver (available at www.greenredmond.org, on the Volunteer Schedule page).

This event is part of the Last Saturday of the Month program from Green Redmond. The remaining events will take place on the following days and parks.

  • July 30 – Idylwood Beach Park, 3650 West Lake Sammamish Parkway NE
  • August 27 – Farrel-McWhirter Farm Park, 19545 Redmond Road
  • September 24 – Farrel-McWhirter Farm Park, 19545 Redmond Road
  • October 29 – Hartman Park, 17300 NE 104 Street

All volunteers should look for Green Redmond Partnership event signs to sign-in and receive their tools and gloves.
