Community Corner

2013 Redmond Town Center Arts Festival

Come see what talented artists, a classy venue, and professional arts advocacy can do for your local community.

The 2013 Redmond Town Center Arts Festival is a free-to-the-public event July 12-14, featuring over 50 artist vendor booths, artist demos and displays, a retailer sidewalk sale, gourmet food truck cuisine, and musical entertainment.

The Redmond Town Center Arts Festival is not your average craft fair. Each year Redmond Town Center, a beautiful, open-air business development featuring more than 110 shops, restaurants, lodging, and entertainment venues, and *VALA Eastside, a 501c3 non-profit arts organization featuring a community art center, work together to produce this unique arts festival. RTC staff executes all of the venue-related productions to make the festival a welcoming, safe environment and a smoothly-run show. The staff and volunteers of VALA Eastside, work as ‘artist advocates’ to support the festival artists and fulfill their mission of connecting artists to artists, artists to the community, and the community to art. This partnership has been integral in making the festival a successful event for the community and artists for two years.

The vision for this festival is not only to give the opportunity for artists to sell their work to the community, but to create an “artful impact on our community of Redmond and the broader Eastside,” says Jessica Lambert, Co-Founder of VALA Eastside.  “For us at VALA, engaging with the community brings artwork to a different level—[we] become artists-in-action, actively advocating for the presence of art in our community.” VALA invites the community at large to bring their friends, family, and co-workers to join in celebration of the arts in a meaningful way.
